ENGINEERS SET TO WORK OVERNIGHT ON FENLAND SCHEME

ENGINEERS are due to work overnight next week for three nights as part of a scheme to improve safety at the A141/ A605 junction near March.

Resurfacing and road marking work will be carried out on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights (June 12, 13, 14) from 8pm to 5am to minimise disruption to traffic during the day.

The roadworks are part of a £500,000 traffic signal scheme to improve safety at the junction.

Once finished the scheme will use intelligent traffic signals which are designed to adjust to reduce queuing and are already used successfully on the A10 near Waterbeach.

Project Manager for Cambridgeshire County Council, Adrian Khan says "The resurfacing and lining works are a vital part of this safety scheme, and we have scheduled them to take place overnight to try and minimise disruption as much as possible for motorists. However, we are asking people to leave plenty of time for their journeys and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."

During the overnight works temporary traffic signals will be used.
