Along with a team of new prefects, Marshland High School will have a new look come September thanks to a more formal shirt and tie uniform.
Prefects were appointed to their roles in a special assembly in which they told their fellow students about why they had chosen to apply and what they hope to contribute.
The roles of head boy and head girl were also appointed in the assembly and each student gave a short speech about their aspirations and responsibilities as leaders of the prefect team.
Headteacher Mrs Dormor said: “The prefects are ambassadors for the school and will be assisting at events such as parent evenings.
“They are also role models for other students, and will support staff in ensuring the school’s high expectations regarding behaviour are upheld.”

Governs of the school have moved towards a more formal uniform, which will be worn by all students from September 2016.
Polo shirts are being replaced by a formal white shirt and tie; the tie will have a diagonal stripe, but prefects will have ties with silver stripes.
