A nine-hour music marathon will be held at Octavia Hill’s Birthplace House in Wisbech on Saturday November 4.

The all day concert is being staged to raise money to replace or restore the Long Room grand piano.

Among the ranks of maestros already signed up for the mammoth event, which runs from 10am to 7pm, are guitarists, a choir, a recorder consort, a flautist, piano students and solo singers – and the tea room will be open all day.

Organiser Loc-Mai Yuen-Brooker said: “This should be a really enjoyable day and a fun way to raise funds for the piano project, with everybody sharing their music.”

Instrumentalists and vocalists wishing to add their names to the musical mix and book a performance slot should call her on 07976 140398.
