Wisbech mayor, Councillor David Oliver, is supporting the World's Biggest Coffee Morning, Macmillan Cancer Support's annual fund-raising event which takes place on September 29.
Cllr Oliver helped to launch the initiative at Peckover House with some of the cast from the Chapterhouse Shakespeare Company's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Last year, nearly two million people, including a host of celebrities, hosted or attended coffee events across the UK and raised £6.5million.
The charity hopes to increase this to £7million this year.
