MP Henry Bellingham has launched an internet feature video addressing the impact that closures to the post office network will have on rural communities.

Mr Bellingham, MP for North-West Norfolk, has used the YouTube website to raise awareness of the threat and to show what a vital service the post office provides to rural ways of life.

His move came after the Government announced that up to 2,500 post offices would close across the country by 2009.

Mr Bellingham said: "The issue of rural post office closures is going to have a very real impact on the day to day lives of my constituents, with thousands more being effected throughout the United Kingdom."
