A MOTHER has launched a fresh appeal for information leading to the whereabouts of her son, almost a year after he went missing.

Terry McSpadden, from Emneth, was last seen on March 1 after spending the evening in the Locomotive pub in Wisbech.

He was later seen on CCTV in the town's Tesco supermarket, but his family has seen or heard nothing from him since.

Terry's mum, Helen Thrower, said: "The whole family has been very distressed and, for me, his disappearance has been the last thing on my mind at night and the first thing on my mind in the morning.

"It would just be nice to know where he is. It is very heartbreaking.

"There has been absolutely nothing from him. We think he had some belongings with him, but he could not have just disappeared off the face of the earth.

"His bank account has not been touched and his mobile phone has not been used since March 3, but Vodafone has kept his mobile number alive in case it picks up a signal."

Terry, 24, has two children aged four and two. They live with his ex-partner in Wisbech but he had regular contact with them.

Mrs Thrower, who now lives in Skegness, said: "He has not been in touch with them for Christmas or their birthdays and he adores them. His daughter also understands that he has not been to see her and keeps asking where her daddy is."

Terry was also due to be the best man at his best friend Danny Crawford's wedding in June.

Mrs Thrower said: "I remember the Christmas before he was laughing and joking about being best man and we hoped he would appear on the day, but he didn't."

Terry is about 6ft tall, has short cropped light brown hair and brown eyes. He has a scar under his lower lip and a large tattoo on his lower back saying "1982".

Mrs Thrower said: "He was always full of life but never liked being on his own; I remember when he came to my house and I went out he always had to come with me. That is what makes it all the more worrying that he has not been in touch.

"We have been to all the pubs looking at where he had been and showing people a picture of him, but it did not jog anybody's memory.

"Hopefully doing this appeal again will lead to some information."

A 26-year-old man from the Wisbech area was arrested in June last year in connection with Terry's disappearance, but was released soon afterwards without charge.
