Students from Meadowgate School in Wisbech enjoyed their official passing out parade to welcome them as volunteer police cadets.
Eight sixth form students took part in the ceremony marking a year ahead of a wide range of voluntary work they will become involved in within the community.
Joining the event was Jason Ablewhite, Cambridgeshire police and crime commissioner and senior police officers, who have all supported the scheme since it began four years ago.
Lisa Mann, a community police support officer in Wisbech, said: “The scheme gives the students a chance to give back to the community and prepares them for the outside world.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and they all thrive on this programme.
“It builds their self esteem and grows their confidence.
“They then become role models for the rest of the pupils in school.”
Now they are officially enrolled as volunteer police cadets with Cambridgeshire Police, the students take part in a range of activities and visits until the end of the school year, when they will take part in the closing ceremony.
