ON her final Sunday in office, the mayor of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, Councillor Ann Clery-Fox, will be attending a special service in celebration of rural communities at Walpole St Peter Parish Church.
"Sunday, May 13, is particularly appropriate as it is Rogation Sunday when traditionally the bounds of the parishes were beaten," said a council spokesman. "The mayor will be attending the service accompanied by the sword and mace bearers, giving people who live in the surrounding villages an opportunity to see something of civic tradition.
"The service is due to start at 6.30pm and the mayor very much hopes that anyone who wishes to attend will come along.
