Helping the homeless became the focus for students from Marshland High School when the student council chose to raise money for the Purfleet Trust.
The charity was chosen for its emphasis on education, work experience and training which students felt reflected their own feelings about the value of education.
The council organised a non-school uniform day and food drive to donate to the Purfleet Trust pantry and raised £508.96 alongside several boxes of non-perishable items.
