A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving after a pedestrian was knocked down in March town centre.
Alexander Chilvers, 20, of Badgeney Road, was taken to Peterborough District Hospital with serious injuries but died yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
The collision happened in front of the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society in Broad Street at around 12.30am on Sunday.
It involved a green Landrover 90 being driven by a 19-year-old man.
PC John Blood from the Road Policing Unit is appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward and contact him.
He said: "I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident to contact police."

* A 19-year-old man was arrested for death by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail. He is due to return to Wisbech Police Station on August 3.
