POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault in Manea on the evening of Thursday, April 16.

A group of young people were approached by a group of older white men who were drinking alcohol in the park on Park Road between 5.30pm and 7pm.

A 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by one of the group and one of the men put a 14 year-old boy in a head lock. The victims broke free and ran out of the park.

DC Rachel Pearce, investigating said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw a large group of white men aged between 16 and 21 in the area of School Lane and the park between 5.30pm and 7pm that day."
