GOREFIELD man Paul Bliss escaped a jail sentence this week, because magistrates want him to take part in a domestic abuse programme under the guidance of the probation service.
In March of last year, 25-year-old Bliss was given a 12-week jail sentence, suspended for two years. But on Tuesday he admitted breaching that order, by missing an appointment with the probation service, and failing to notify them of his address.
"The domestic abuse programme is about to start and it is important that he attends for himself and the protection of his partner," Fenland magistrates were told by probation service court officer Marie Ludlum.
Bliss, of St Paul's Close, was told to attend the course, and was also put on drug rehabilitation programme.
