A man caught waving a BB gun in Wisbech today has been arrested and taken to King’s Lynn for questioning for suspected firearms offences
Cambs police said the man was taken to the police investigation centre and inquiries were ongoing.
Carrying most types of BB guns in a public place unless you have a “reasonable excuse” is illegal.
Police forces would usually accept carrying it home as a reasonable reason for having it on you in public – but you would have to prove it.
The maximum penalty for this offence is up to 12 months in jail.
