A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after an assault in a Wisbech pub after the Rugby World Cup Final.
The assault took place in the Horsefair Tavern, in Hill Street, at about 1am on October 21. A 22-year-old man was hit in the face with what was believed to be a glass and received a number of cuts.
A 33-year-old man from Wisbech was arrested and bailed to return to Wisbech police station on November 22.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Detective Constable Al Bassam, who is investigating, said: "At the time of the assault the pub would have been fairly busy.
