Man arrested in Wisbech today after police seize what they think is cannabis and amphetamine

A MAN was arrested following a raid in Wisbech today as part of Operation Surf.

Police executed the warrant in Bath Road, at midday, seizing substances believed to be amphetamine and cannabis.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing class B drugs.

He is currently in custody at March Police Station.

Detective Sergeant Chris O’Brien, who led the warrant, said: “Today’s warrant saw Operation Surf officers working alongside neighbourhood officers and was prompted by community intelligence.

“I would urge anyone with any information to contact police.”

* Operation Surf is a police initiative to target offenders and criminal activity across Fenland and Huntingdonshire. A dedicated team of officers led by Detective Inspector Dave Steward have stepped up patrols in key areas across Huntingdonshire and Fenland. The campaign was launched last September.
