An 18-year-old was arrested in Wisbech yesterday afternoon when reports came in of a suspected gunman at Baxter Close, near Norwich Road.
Armed police attended the scene on October 10 and arrested the man on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in public.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “Officers have responded to reports of a man in possession of a suspected firearm in Baxter Close, Wisbech.
“Armed officers attended and arrested an 18-year-old man from Wisbech on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm in public.
“He is currently in custody at the Police Investigation Centre in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.”
One resident said on social media: “Police were called to a suspected gunman. I was there when the call was made. I got the hell out as soon as possible.
“I was too busy looking after a young kid, to get her out of harms way while the mother made the call.
“No idea who the lady was, my concern was my kids and that young child.”
