A MAJOR policy statement on the state of Fenland District Council's finances is expected tomorrow afternoon.

Councillor Alan Melton, portfolio holder for finance, is expected to deliver a statement to councillors in which he will explain the financial strategy for the coming years.

High on the list of possibilities is a major review of all council spending, and in his speech he is expected to give early indications of Council Tax proposals for next year and beyond.

Cllr Melton's statement to councillors will be a public meeting of the council, starting at 4pm at Fenland Hall, March, to which the public is invited.

A full report of the speech will be published on this website shortly afterwards, and a summary published in this week's print editions of the Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard, priced 50p.
