A TEENAGE dad who missed appointments with the probation service because he was suffering from a lack of sleep has been placed on a motivational course by magistrates.

Patrick Crofts, 19, who cares for three children with his partner, admitted breaching the terms of his community order, imposed back in October for drink driving.

“The problem has been looking after the children and lack of sleep, he found it difficult to keep appointments,” solicitor Roger Glazebrook explained to Fenland magistrates.

Crofts, of Weston Miller Drive, Wisbech, admitted missing two appointments in December. He was ordered to carry out the Motiv8 course, alongside his current order that requires him to attend supervision appointments with the probation service, a thinking skills programme and alcohol treatment.
