A teenager from Walpole St Peter has donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust charity.
Lauren Flowers, 18, who is a hairdressing student at the College of West Anglia, had her locks cut in order to give a child suffering from hair loss a real hair wig.
She said: “I decided to have my long hair cut off for the Little Princess Trust because I wanted to donate my hair to a princess.
“My new hairstyle does feel odd and will take some getting used to, but I like it.
“I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me with donations; I’ve already had over £250 in sponsorship money.”
Lauren’s classmates have got behind her by organising a bake sale, non-school uniform day and raffle to boost the fundraising total.
This has so far raised £80 on top of Lauren’s sponsorship.
Lauren added: “I have been lucky enough to have very long hair and would love to help a little princess feel what it’s like to have hair to play with.
“I am training to become a hairdresser, and would love to raise as much money as I can for the charity.”

The Little Princess Trust has given away over 4,000 free real hair wigs. They are now in the process of identifying research projects to fund, which will focus on finding kinder treatments for children with cancer.
