Postman Geoff Babcock was bid farewell by Terrington St John residents when he retired after 32 years on the village beat. Mr Babcock, of Murrow, was presented with a cheque for more than £700 which had been collected by members of the parish council on behalf of villagers. He also received cards and gifts from individuals. "He will be greatly missed by everybody," said resident Doreen Diggle. "He has done all sorts of things beyond the call of duty." Mr Babcock, who received his gifts at a presentation outside the Woolpack Inn, said he intended to spend more time fishing and less time gardening.
