LADIES at a Fenland golf club have raised around £300 for a charity which has helped their captain’s ill granddaughter.
Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s ladies’ captain Maggie Semper organised the golf charity day in aid of the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. Her granddaughter, Elysia, suffers with liver disease.
Elysia was born with a rare liver condition called Biliary atresia - a blockage in the tubes that carry a liquid called bile from the liver to the gallbladder - and underwent life-changing surgery at just nine-weeks old.
She has had to make regular trips to hospital throughout her life and has been continually supported by CLFD.
Fifty golfers took part in a mixed three-ball competition and Elysia presented winners with their prizes.
A raffle draw was also held for a hamper and Tydd’s captain thanked everyone for their generosity in supporting her charity day.
