A fun day was held to mark the end of a successful programme which has helped Fenland people into work or develop their skills in existing jobs.

About £13million from the European Social Fund has been used across Cambridgeshire for 32 projects - another 26 projects are helping 13,000 people.

Amy Weston, 16, of Leverington, pictured, was one of the 200 who went along to the event at the East of England Showground at Peterborough. Amy has been ESF-funded through NACRO in Cambridgeshire.

Fun activities included a bungee run, gladiator jousting, giant Jenga and even toilet racing, which saw participants racing around on motorised toilets.

Amy Abbott, ESF contracts manager for LSC Cambridgeshire, said: "ESF helps people who need additional support to enter jobs, improve skills and develop their potential at work.

"Unfortunately, many people often face a disadvantage in the labour market, including the long-term unemployed, lone parents and those with a lack of basic skills.
