A bright idea for recycling old buttons has helped sixth-form students at Wisbech Grammar School collect a clutch of business awards.

Members of Octavia dreamed up a fashion that was not only smart but environmentally friendly, and won the best company title in the Peterborough region at the Young Enterprise annual presentation evening at Peterborough Town Hall.

The school has been placed first or second in the competition for the last 12 years. This year students gained six individual top prizes and two company awards. Ella Harrington, 17, picked up the individual achiever award and best product award along with Dulcie Emerson, 17.

There were also awards for David Milne, 16, for best marketing director; Jessica Wright, 17, for best finance director; Aarohi Sharma, 16, for best sales director; and Grace Rankin, 16, for best company secretary.

Octavia received the best company award and an award for good governance. The group members also received £500, which will go towards an educational visit.
