JOYRIDERS wrecked farmers’ crops by riding stolen motorbikes over farmland.

Vehicles were taken from Holly Avenue and Abington Grove, in Elm, before the suspected culprits were seen cruising around villages causing a nuisance to residents and road users.

Another bike was stolen from Needham Bank in Friday Bridge but “good detective work” and intelligence from the public meant three male suspects and one female were identified.

A spokesperson from Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The police mounted an operation to catch these suspects as quickly as possible.

“Following good work by police officers, two males have been arrested in connection with these crimes.”
