An intruder wearing a baseball cap fled a Wisbech home after being confronted by the owner.
The break in happened at around 8.30pm on Sunday in Elm High Road.
A police spokesman said: “The owner has heard his front door being opened and has investigated the noise.
“After finding a male inside the property he has challenged him and he has fled the scene.
The suspect is described as being a white male, approximately 5ft 11in, in his 30s wearing a baseball cap, a long sleeve top and blue jeans.
