LAST week we told the story of missing Terry McSpadden through interviews with his mother and work colleagues. This week LOUISE HUGHES, in this exclusive report, spoke to Terry's father and his step mother.

THERE wasn't a dry eye in the room as missing Terry McSpadden's father and step-mother described their son.

"Our lives are so empty without him," said Steve Rolfe, of Friday Bridge. "Please Terry, if you are reading this, give us a call mate."

His stepmother Sue added: "The whole family are pleading with anyone to come forward if they have information about Terry."

Tomorrow (Sat) marks the first anniversary of the 24-year-old's disappearance, and, it goes without saying, his family and friends are desperate to have him home.

The last time Steve and Sue heard from Terry, who was a champion Motocross biker as a youngster, was last January.

"Terry won over 500 trophies, shields, medals and plates and even gave some away to kids that didn't do as well," said Steve, a fork lift truck driver at Greenvale.

"He had a scar under his mouth after a nasty bike accident but that didn't stop him competing.

"At the beginning of last year, he was keen to get back into the Motocross scene and invited us to a future fixture. We didn't hear from him after that.

"To cope, I think that everyday Terry doesn't turn up, he must still be alive. That's how I get through it.

Sue added: "We just hope to God that Terry returns to us safe and sound

Steve said: "For him, not to even phone is so out of character, and he wouldn't just take off without telling anyone. He wouldn't let us worry like this, and everyone we know has said that.

"He held down a job and as a father, he lived for his children and always spoke about them. He was such a caring, decent, generous bloke.

"We foster in this house, and he was also so kind towards the kids we had here.

"Terry also wouldn't have missed being best man for his friend, Danny Crawford, or the birth of his beautiful niece."

A father of two, Terry went missing after a night out with friends at the Locomotive pub in Wisbech. In the early hours he withdrew £100 from a cash point at Tesco's.

It was a Thursday night, and he was enjoying a few drinks as a court order insisted upon a 7am-7pm Friday-Sunday curfew for a drink related offence.

For that, he was wearing an electronic tag around his ankle at the time. But even the device hasn't helped locate him.

Sue said: "That doesn't make him a bad person, he was a loving boy."

Anyone who has seen or heard from Terry is asked to contact King's Lynn CID on 0845 4564567.
