Inspiration and conservation at Peckover House in Wisbech
PUBLISHED: 13:04 13 January 2018
As the new year progresses, staff and volunteers at the National Trust's Peckover House in Wisbech are working hard in preparation for the 2018 season.
Conservation is always a very important part and this year visitors will be able to take a look at what goes on being closed doors.
There will be the chance of attending a conservation talk in the house.
“Opening the garden to our visitors at this time of year has become something of a tradition,” said house manager Ben Rickett.
“It is the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy the garden in its early season. Flowering shrubs and a host of colourful bulbs are very much in evidence, as are a multitude of more delicate plants which can be seen in the glasshouses.”
The garden is open at weekends until February 18 from 12 noon to last admission at 3.30pm.
With soup and hot drinks available in the Reed Barn, a stroll around the garden and the conservation talk in the house at 2pm, the early season at Peckover has much to offer.
