A 19-year-old former Wisbech Rose Fair Carnival Queen contestant died after her car plunged into a ditch, an inquest heard this week.
Megan Warner, of Stables Court, Leverington, was driving along the A1101 between Welney and Wisbech on May 4 when her car left the road.
At the inquest in Swaffham on Monday, Greater Norfolk Coroner William Armstrong recorded a verdict that Miss Warner died accidentally as a result of drowning after the car she was driving left the road and went into a water-filled dyke.
Warner had recently completed studies in art and design, psychology and travel and tourism at Downham Sixth Form College.
