SIX Indian headteachers have spent this week touring Fenland schools, as part of plans to create a link between schools here and in their own country.

Tours of seven schools in Wisbech, Friday Bridge, Gorefield and Tydd St Giles, and a reception with the mayor of Wisbech, Councillor David Oliver, were just some of the events of a busy week.

The trip comes after six Fenland headteachers spent 10 days in north India earlier this year on a similar tour.

Lesley Mardle, head of the Nene Infants' School, Wisbech, said: "The link will enable us to compare teaching methods from around the world and enable children to broaden their horizons."
