“I’m a very very lucky boy,” said Josh Kent, 22, of Springwood.

“I am so thankful for the ambulance crew, paramedics and police but incredibly grateful to the highway maintenance blokes who stopped and called the emergency services for me.”

But he was less than enamoured with those motorists who passed by without stopping.

“I’m not so thankful to the four cars that merrily drove past me without a care in the world though,” he said. “Either way I’m cut, bruised and sore but alive and walking - someone’s clearly watching over me up there.”

Police say the collision on Saturday morning was attended by local officers, those from the roads policing unit and an ambulance.

The incident happened on the A47 South Brink at Guyhirn.

“A vehicle left the road and rolled over into a field,” said a police spokesman.

“The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.”

The vehicle was recovered at the scene and inquiries are ongoing.

Josh added: “I’m still in a lot of pain and very bruised and cut – just counting my blessings.”
