POLICE have appealed for help in tracing thieves who smashed their way into vehicles parked at a Fenland hotel.

Two cars at the Bridge Hotel, Sutton Bridge, were broken into between 5am and 6am on Friday, and other cars were damaged.

"A briefcase containing personal paperwork and an empty golf bag were stolen," said a police spokesman.

"Unfortunately, this type of crime is still common in the local area, where residents and visitors are still leaving valuable items on display in their vehicles.

"It takes more time and effort to repair the damage to the vehicle and replace the stolen goods than it does to remove everything from display.
