ABOUT 100 youngsters took part in Fenland District Council's half-term activities programme in and around Wisbech last week.

The aim of the programme, aimed at youngsters aged from eight to 16, was, said Verity Allen, the council's youth activities co-ordinator, to "reduce anti-social behaviour in children through sport".

But there was more than sport on offer. Activities included Nintendo Wii sessions and games such as Connect 4.

For three days the activities were based at Wisbech's Oasis Village Community Centre. for the other two days events were at various venues in Elm, Friday Bridge, Thorney Toll and Guyhirn. All sessions were free.

Miss Allen expects similar activities to be on offer during the February half-term and there are definite plans for a programme over Easter.
