‘The People of Roman Britain - Introducing the Romano-British’ will look at real personalities who fleshed out an archaeological record.

From the poet brick layer to the incompetent potter - these are the real people of Roman Britain, in their own words.

Paddy Lambert, a project officer at Oxford Acheaolodgy East will speak at the event held by Fenland Archaeological Society.

Mr Lambert specialises in the history and material culture of the Roman world, with dedicated interests in Roman inscriptions and religion.

He has been involved in Roman projects across the UK and Europe, most recently on an extensive Roman villa complex in south west England.

The talk begins at 7.30pm at Mendi’s Restaurant, 21 Old Market Place, on Wednesday February 27.

Admission for non-members is £3 and booking is essential at info@fenarch.org.uk or text to 07765 172450.
