President of Wisbech Rotary Club, Mrs C Kember presents a cheque for £1,191 to Phillip Hazel from the charity Practical Action.

Millions of African farmers who make up the majority of the continent's poor are being bypassed by international aid, leaving a large gap in assistance to subsistence farmers, especially in remote and deprived districts.

Practical Action works directly with poor communities to help them choose and use technology to improve their lives.

This Rotary donation is designated for building composting toilets in a remote African village with a scarce water supply, thereby reducing the current high risks of cholera, dysentery, typhoid, polio and intestinal parasites.
