WISBECH theatre company RATz won a hat-trick of awards at the prestigious National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) East awards.

As well as scooping the gong for Best Pantomime for Dick Whittington and Best Muscial for Spring Awakening, the Angles Theatre, RATz starlet Jack Hurst took away the award for Bets Young Performer, capping a superb night for the company.

The NODA East awards feature dozens of entrants from many of the 250 amateur dramatic societies based across the region.

In his review, judge Jim Farr, said: “Jack Hurst is another young man starting to make his mark and I was impressed with his timing and mannerisms.”

A spokesman for RATz said: “It is a huge feather in Wisbech and Fenland’s cap for RATz, the in-house amateur production company for the Angles Theatre and affiliated to NODA, to win not one but three major regional awards.”
