West Walton Community Gymnastics Club proved to be a fantastic venue for children from the local ADHD group "Live Wires" to let off steam during the Summer holidays. Live Wires is a group for children and families who are affected by ADHD where the children have a confirmed diagnosis or even if it is only suspected. Children in the group had sometimes felt excluded from traditional activities but in collaboration with Kirstie Harrison, the Norfolk County Development Officer for gymnastics, the group set up a partnership with a local club to run gymnastics themed activity days. Kirstie Harrison said that "it is great to see gymnastics clubs in Fenland and West Norfolk breaking down the barriers to participation and being accessible to everyone". The first session was a resounding success and more are planned throughout the Summer Holidays. If you are interested in the Live Wire Group, please contact David Hill on 01945 588389. It is hoped that the project will be extended to incorporate more activities and sports in the future. West Walton Community Gymnastics Club also holds a variety of activity sessions catering from beginners to more advanced gymnasts and is home to a full sprung floor, air track, mini tramps and much more. If you are interested in booking a gymnastic session, please contact Harry or Becky on 07766 061200.
