Upwell businessman Gerald Harnwell donated some of his old computers to the village's Puddleducks

Nursery group, on Friday.

Mr Harnwell, senior partner of Harnwell Electricals, also gave the group £20 to go towards new software.

It means the 30 or so toddlers on the books of Puddleducks can play games and familiarise themselves

with using computers.

Tracy Hanslip, nursery vicechairman, said: "We went to ask Mr Harnwell for a donation towards a dog show to raise money for the playschool, because we were hoping to buy some computers.

"But he had just replaced his office computers and kindly said we could have his old ones."

The tables were also made free of charge, by Mrs Hanslip's husband Nigel.

The nursery meets at the Methodist Hall every weekday morning, except Tuesdays when it meets at Upwell Primary School.

Extra sessions are held at the Methodist Hall on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
