WISBECH Park and St Peter’s Church Gardens have been named as two of the best managed open spaces nationwide after picking up the prestigious Green Flag award.
The award is given to only the very best parks and open spaces across the country which achieve high environmental standards and set the benchmark for recreational areas in the United Kingdom.
The Park and the Church Gardens will now be able to fly the flag for the fifth year running after proving once again that they set the standard for what open spaces should project.
Councillor Peter Murphy, the Fenland District Council portfolio holder responsible for open spaces, said: “We’re delighted to have received this accolade yet again.
“It’s a nice reward for the hard work, dedication and resources that we have all put in to maintaining these areas to an exceptionally high standard.”
