STUDENTS at Thomas Clarkson Community College in Wisbech, are celebrating after their results showed significant improvements compared to last year.

All of the students educated on site have achieved a GCSE. This is an improvement of 10per cent from last year.

Overall, 39per cent of students achieved five A*-C grades which is an increase of eight per cent from last year's results.

In total 63 students achieved five A*-C grades including maths and English.

Performance in the core subjects has improved by 11per cent in English and seven per cent in maths.

Principal Maureen Strudwick said: "These results are promising and build on the successes of the Post-16 students reported last week.

"The students and staff have worked tirelessly to achieve these improvements and our thanks go to the parents and families who have continued to support Thomas Clarkson.

"These results reflect the findings of Ofsted over the past year in that Thomas Clarkson Community College is improving and this is wonderful news for our students and the wider community.

"The college has spent the last year putting in place the necessary changes to ensure that our future development is soundly based."

The highest achiever in the school was Renal Davodav.

Other high achievers include Carmen Hannibal-Stewart, Kayleigh Wilson, Ian Saunders, Thomas Dyke, Rebecca Garner, Connor Bishop, Jason Bradshaw, Maddison Cage, Ian Edwards, Fallon Fisher, Katie Hubble, Carrie Kitching, Emily Mackett and Kirsten Rumbelow.
