THE romance of Valentine's Day was encapsulated by staff at a Fenland care home, when they played Mr and Mrs for an afternoon of entertainment.
The All Star Mr And Mrs spin-off provided a barrel of laughs for residents at Edina Court in Wisbech on Saturday, in place of a New Year's party.
Staff played the roles of the couples - some even taking to fancy dress. Once the competition finished residents enjoyed music and a buffet.
Barbara Elsey, a member of staff at Edina Court and of the Friends of Edina Court, said: "Our New Year's party was cancelled due to the bad weather so we decided to hold a Valentine's party.
"We never held a Valentine's party before but the residents loved it. Some of them have asked us to now do a pantomime.
"Staff and the Friends held a Christmas bazaar in November for the tenants' amenities and entertainment, and part of the 950 we raised was used for this.
