A CROWD of around 1,000 people watched in amazement as pupils of Thomas Clarkson Community College arrived for their Oscars-style prom in a variety of transport, from fabulous limousines to horse drawn carriages, lorries, vintage cars and even a motorbike.
The youngsters, dressed to impress in evening attire, then walked the red carpet to the main entrance, where they were welcomed by head of year Paul Cooke.
Non alcoholic cocktails were served to the former year 11 pupils, who were celebrating the end of exams, and the end of their time at the school.
About 180 pupils and staff joined in the party, which included a disco, and food prepared by the prom committee.
College principal Maureen Strudwick declared this year's prom the best ever. "For those lucky enough to have attended, it was easy to see why," she said. "The best of weather, the best of company, and the best of times.
