A NEW �500,000 community centre with police and Citizens Advice Bureau offices was opened by an MP and the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire.

The Curlew Centre in Memorial Park, Sutton Bridge, opened on Saturday and comprises of a multi-functional sports hall, a parish council office, an Internet cafe, a meeting room and toilets.

The first floor also houses an administration office, a children’s nursery, function room and two meeting rooms.

South Holland MP John Hayes Tony Worth, the Lord Lieutenant on Lincolnshire, carried out the opening. Music was provided by The Collaborators and Nigel Portass.

A children’s disco and party was held on Sunday with special guests Spongebob Squarepants and Scooby Doo. Youngsters also had the chance to win prizes.
