ABOUT 500 children had the excitement of a helicopter landing in their school playing field on Tuesday.
Before the chopper landed pupils from Clarkson Infant School and St Peter's Junior School, both in Wisbech, got together to form a massive symbol for an aerial photograph.
While youngsters from Clarkson made a '2008', St Peter's School formed their cross keys emblem for the pictures to be sold at the schools.
Children also had a chance to get up close to the helicopter and meet the pilot.
Yolanda Smith from St Peter's School said: "It was a really exciting treat for the children and something I am sure they will never forget."
Pam Mohr, deputy headteacher at Clarkson, added: "We organised something similar for our Golden Jubilee celebrations three years ago and it was a huge success in the school.
