GOLD medallist Jody Cundy gave some glittering performances at the Beijing Paralympics and on Friday he lit up the centre of Wisbech when he turned on the Christmas lights.
The crowds turned out to see the inspirational Fenland sportsman press the switch amidst a whole host of seasonal entertainment.
The big switch on was preceded by a procession from the Town Hall led by the Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Jonathan Farmer and his wife, Susanah, and other members of the town council. The Christmas lights are funded by the council.
Vintage fire engine Vivien also took part in the parade and was followed by Father Christmas in a sleigh.
There was lots of musical entertainment featuring local primary schools, Wisbech Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society and the Angles Theatre.
