HUNDREDS of people enjoyed a fun packed weekend as part of the Upwell playing Field Weekend.

The bumper event was held over three days and included an array of events including a special flypast by a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The flypast was held on Friday and included a party in the park which included DJs and a karaoke as well as a barbecue and refreshments.

On Saturday July 26 there was a special charity football tournament and car boot sale.

Teams from around the area played for the honour of winning the Upwell Playing Field Charity Shield - which was won by Wisbech St Mary.

The Sunday event was a village fete with local crafts and demonstrations and also the King and Queen of Upwell Liam Nelson 10 and Kayleigh Elmer 10, who are both from the village.

Organisers said the event was a huge success and hope it will be the first of many and would like to thank everyone who attended and also everyone who helped to make it run so well.
