THE EVENT: Skylark Fantastic Fireworks

WHERE: Skylark Garden Centre Showground, Wimblington, last Saturday.

WHO ATTENDED: Hundreds of families out to enjoy one of the early firework events of 2008. Hereward Radio was also in attendance throughout the night and played to appreciative audiences in the indoor marquee.

A SUCCESS? "Most definitely" said organiser Paul Chapman. "Hereward Radio presenters were brilliant entertaining the children with dancing, gifts and singing."

NOT FORGETTING? "The fireworks, of course," said Mr Chapman. "We reckon it was probably one of the biggest in the region and the White Lightening Fireworks Professional Display were amazing. We had two shows at 7pm and 8pm and three full hours of entertainment."

PLENTY TO EAT? "You bet," said Mr Chapman. "The food hall did a roaring trade and there was real ale and plenty of good food."

ANY OTHER ATTRACTIONS? The tiny tots fun fair proved a hit.

THE WEATHER? Not so good but they didn't stop the fun. Mr Chapman described an "horrendous storm" which broke but all the families still managed to enjoy themselves.

NEXT YEAR? "The event is already booked" said Mr Chapman. "It will be on October 31, 2009. Book that evening in your diary now! Twice the size, and twice the fun. It's a great venue and we're aiming to provide masses of entertainment throughout the year. Watch this space.
