IT did rain on the parade but the downpour failed to dampen the spirits of those taking part in Saturday's Rose Fair activities.

The streets of Wisbech took on a carnival air for the fourth day of the annual extravaganza with young and old taking part in the parade organised as usual by Wisbech Round Table. This year's theme of 'Famous Books and Authors produced some highly imaginative floats.

Visitors had been flooding into the town since the start of the fair on Wednesday enjoying a host of activities by various organisations.

St Peter's Church with its beautiful floral arrangements provided a stunning focal point. Many visitors took the opportunity to tuck into some wonderful local strawberries.

There was musical entertainment in Museum Square, stalls in the church gardens, and the castle was open for visitors.
