THE EVENT: An evening with celebrity chef Brian Turner at The Anchor, Wimblington. It was organised by owners of The Anchor, the Petrou Brothers.

WHEN WAS IT? Last Thursday. It was held in a marquee at The Anchor because the dining room seats just 65 and 100 eager diners paid £45 to eat a wonderful meal and be entertained by Mr Turner.

WHY WAS IT HELD? To provide some great entertainment and to showcase the menu of locally sourced and imaginative food served regularly at The Anchor.

WHO IS BRIAN TURNER? An award winning chef who appears regularly on TV shows such as Ready Steady Cook and Good Morning. He got to know the Petrou Brothers through mutual involvement in the nationwide competition to find the nation's best fish and chip shop. Mr Turner is a huge fan of fish and chips and could not resist stopping at the Petrou Brothers shop in Chatteris for his favourite meal before going on to Wimblington.

WHAT WAS ON THE MENU AT THE ANCHOR? An award-winning black pudding starter, a spit-roasted hog and a trio of chocolate mousses. Mr Turner said the black pudding was the best he had ever tasted. The Anchor serves as much locally-sourced food as possible and the Gloucester Old Spot pig had been reared in nearby Doddington. Unusually the chocolate mousses had been flavoured with curry spices including cardamom. The diners were also treated to a selection of Amuse Bouche during the evening - tiny morsels of tempting palate cleansers.

WHO COOKED THE FOOD? The Petrou Brothers and their staff with Mr Turner helping and giving them the benefit of his culinary expertise. Mark Petrou said: "It was very challenging to serve 100 diners at the same time and he gave us some good advice and helped with the finishing touches. Everyone must have enjoyed the food because the plates came back empty."

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE MEAL? Mr Turner chatted to diners, signed copies of books and posed for photographs with his fans. Mark said: "He is a genuinely decent fellow and just as nice as when he appears on TV."

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE FROM MR TURNER? Next time charge double - the quality and quantity of the food demands it!
