A new fruit agronomist has joined Wisbech company Hutchinsons.
Andy Lloyd started with the business, based on Weasenham Lane, in February as a new entrant agronomist with the horticultural team.
For the past seven years Andy has been working for a fruit contractor in Herefordshire, concentrating in cider fruit, as well as growing cherries and juicing apples. He has provided local growers with harvesting (14,000 tonnes in 2015), spraying and pruning services as well as managing orchards.
Mike Hutchinson, director of horticulture, said: “We have always been proud to offer excellent technical expertise, the latest technology as well as top-class advice to their specialist fruit growers. Andy’s new appointment will strengthen our West Midlands Horticultural team further.”
