STEVE Barclay, Prospective Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for North East Cambridgeshire, shares a joke with a St John's Ambulance volunteer and has his blood pressure taken at the Golden Age Fair at Friday Bridge He was given a clean bill of health.
He said: "Despite the recession, it was a real joy to meet community-minded local people at the Golden Age Fair who are working hard to make Fenland a better place to live, work and play. I will be doing everything I can to support their efforts."
Golden Age Fairs have proved successful in helping many elderly people across Fenland secure benefits payments and introduce them to a wide range of options for elderly people. Since their inception by Fenland District Council they have won national recognition for community innovation.
